Growing up on the beautiful island of Montserrat in the Caribbean, my skin and I had a complicated relationship. While other kids splashed water on their faces and moved on with their day, I dreaded washing mine. Every soap I tried left my skin burning, tight, and painfully dry. I didn’t have the language for it then, but I knew something wasn’t right.
That early discomfort planted a seed I didn’t realize would grow into a passion—and eventually, a business.

As a child, I thought the burning sensation was normal. Many of the soaps available were harsh, heavily fragranced, and full of detergents that stripped my skin. Caribbean heat and humidity didn’t help either. I remember looking in the mirror and seeing irritation I couldn’t explain.
